The Supervisory Board was established by the requirements of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Higher Education’ (Art. 37) and the University Charter (Art. 7.2).
The Supervisory Board contributes to the solution of promising tasks for the development of the University, the attraction of financial resources to ensure its activities in the main areas of development and control over their use, effective interaction between the University and state and local government bodies, the scientific community, socio-political organisations and business entities in the interests of developing and improving the quality of educational activities and the competitiveness of the University, and exercises public control over its activities, etc.
Members of the Supervisory Board:
- Taras Kytsmei – Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Ukrainian entrepreneur, scientist, economist and public figure, President of “SoftServe Corporation”, Honoured Economist of Ukraine, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
- Vitalii Antonov – Ukrainian entrepreneur, founder of “Universal Investment Group”, Candidate of Economic Sciences.
- Yevhen Bystrytskyi – Ukrainian philosopher, leading researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, professor, Doctor of Philosophy.
- Yurii Bubes – Ukrainian entrepreneur, president of the PrJSC “Concern-Electron”, Honoured Economist of Ukraine, Candidate of Economic Sciences.
- Yurii Hryn – scientist in the field of inorganic chemistry, honorary director of the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids (Dresden, Germany), professor, Doctor of Chemical Sciences.
- Larysa Ivshyna – Ukrainian journalist, public and cultural figure, author of the idea and editor of the publications of the “Day” newspaper, Honoured Journalist of Ukraine.
- Stepan Kubiv – Ukrainian politician and public figure, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine (2016-2019), Candidate of Economic Sciences.
- Oleh Nemchynov – Ukrainian politician and public figure, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Candidate of Sciences in Public Administration.
- Dmytro Shymkiv – Ukrainian top manager in the field of innovation, CEO of Microsoft Ukraine (2009-2014), Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine (2014-2018).
The competence of the Supervisory Board includes:
- promoting the University’s achievements in scientific and educational activities;
- assisting the University’s management in implementing state policy in the field of higher education and science;
- exercising control over the management of the University’s property;
- attracting financial resources to ensure the University’s activities and exercising control over their use;
- ensuring effective interaction between the University and state authorities, the scientific community, socio-political and business organisations in the interests of the University’s development;
- exercising public control over the University’s activities;
- participating in the formation of educational, scientific and financial strategies for the University’s activities and development prospects;
- analysing the activities of the University’s governing bodies in terms of organising and ensuring conditions for the professional development of scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers and established scientific schools;
- assisting in the creation of a modern material and technical base and the development of the University’s social infrastructure;
- submitting for consideration by the Academic Board of the University proposals for amendments to the Charter;
- receiving information on the management of property and the implementation of the University’s charter activities under the procedure established by law and the Charter;
- other actions in contribution to the University’s activity.
