As noted by the head of the CIE, associate professor Vira Kovalenko, it is difficult and at the same time easy to talk about the motherland. It is difficult, as it is necessary to speak in a foreign language, and it is not always possible to find a suitable word. And it’s easy because of being inspired by love for the native land, its traditions, and culture.

This year’s virtual journey covered Europe, Asia, Africa, South America. The students presented 15 presentations on 10 countries: Italy, Turkey, Israel, China, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Nigeria, Ecuador, and Columbia. Students also surprised with their talents: Teng Xiaojong (China) presented his own paintings made by traditional Chinese techniques in rice paper, Yu Xin (China) performed a traditional dance in a national costume, and Andes’ mountains were spectacular in the photographs of Miguel Villagran from Ecuador. All those present were moved by the words of gratitude expressed by Malay student Diawar Diy for teachers.
The member of the jury, associate professor of the Department of Ukrainian Applied Linguistics Danuta Mazuryk, noted that despite the place in the competition, all the participants became winners, since they gained new knowledge, new experience, and new friends here, and the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv is a powerful center for teaching Ukrainian language as a foreign language.

The winners of the presentation of the contest were awarded magnificent prizes – photo albums by Y.Nykolyshyn “Lviv. An inspiring city. ” We hope that these memorable gifts and time of study in Lviv will inspire young people to make new achievements.
