Student team from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv “LNU_Turtles” triumphed at 17th Open International Student Programming Olympiad KPI-OPEN 2026, which took place at National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.
KPI-OPEN is one of the most famous team-based programming competitions in Ukraine that is conducted according to the rules of ICPC. The participants solve complex algorithmic tasks over a specified period of time, demonstrating high level of knowledge, quick thinking, and effective teamwork.
32 teams from 14 universities took part in this competition. What’s noteworthy is that the winners of this year’s Olympiad became the students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv Oleksandr Zhenchenko (PMiM-11), Volodymyr Dudchak (PMi-21), Zakhar Chaikivskyi (PMi-13). Team’s coach is the associate professor of Department of Applied Mathematics Vasyl Biletskyi.
