The delegation of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv led by the Rector, Professor Volodymyr Melnyk visited Wrocław University on April 27, 2017. During the visit the guests participated in the conference “Ukrainian political and legal thought in the twentieth century” and signed a work program added to the cooperation agreement between the two universities. Under the program, the academic communities of the universities for two years are planning to work out wide range of joint research, educational initiatives and deepen long-term cooperation between the institutions.
During the signing ceremony the Rector of Lviv University Volodymyr Melnyk and the Rector of Wrocław University Adam Jezierski noted the urgency and the need to implement research topics in the field of scientific and didactic work of teachers and graduate students. Also the two universities agreed to extend the exchange of master students, which have already been lasting for a few years. In addition, the new agreement makes it possible for the scientists of Ivan Franko University to receive an access to modern technologies developed in Wrocław University.
It should be pointed out that long-term cooperation between the universities, which was started by Rectors Ivan Vakarchuk and Marek Boyarsky, brought significant scientific, cultural and educational results reflected in conferences, scientific publications and art programs.
Scientific conference “Ukrainian political and legal thought in the twentieth century” conducted at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economy was opened by the Rectors of Wrocław and Lviv Universities – Adam Jezierski and Volodymyr Melnyk. The Vice Rector of Lviv University Maryan Lozynskyi read a lecture: “Journal “Letters to Friends” as a Forerunner of Ukrainian Political Thought in the Twentieth Century”. Doctoral student of the Department of the History of State, Law, Political and Legal Doctrines of the Law Faculty Taras Andrusyak presented a report for the conference participants.
The conference was organized by Professor Maciej Marszał, Wrocław University. As part of its work young scientists from Ukraine and doctoral students of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economy of Wrocław University reported on interesting scientific thematic topics.
