All Digital Week — is an annual information campaign dedicated to the development of citizens’ digital habits. This year the European Digital Week was firstly held in Ukraine at the state level during 22-28 March together with the partners and organizational committee. The 2019 figures show that 53% of citizens do not have the basic digital skills, though digital accuracy is as important as reading, writing and speaking skills. Thus, the European digital week aims at raising awareness of the digital education and inspiring people to improve their digital habits.
Lviv University is one of the higher educational establishments having supported this initiative. In particular, three modules were conducted during 25-27, March within the campaign, the first module being “Improving teaching skills”.
Besides, the Opening day of the academic curriculum “Highly productive computing” functioning at the faculty of electronics and computer science was held at the university on 27 March. During the meeting the prospective graduates had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the course prospectus, opportunities and techniques the exclusive dual education curriculum offers.
Within the European digital week IT-week was also held at the university (29 March – 2 April). The partners of the event were the leading companies of the IT sphere, namely EPAM, Intellias, Agiliway, SoftServe, Indeema, GlobalLogic, Daxx, InoXoft, DevCom, Dialog Semiconductor.
The participants had the opportunity to communicate with the real professionals, the representatives of the IT-companies and learn about various jobs in the IT-sphere, the development the IT-industry in Ukraine and abroad as well as the innovative IT-specialities at Lviv University.
University scientists and students are convinced that by teaching digital accuracy today we are forming the fund of digital talents of Ukraine and the world of the future.
