The high-quality education of specialists, especially in technical fields, is critically important both in the context of the ongoing full-scale war and for the future post-war recovery of our country. Providing modern laboratory equipment for quality student training, as well as for the work of lecturers and researchers, is a priority for the sustainable development of our University.
We are pleased to announce that our university has received substantial humanitarian assistance worth £103,000 (5.3 million UAH) in the form of modern laboratory equipment for student training and research from Qualasept Pharmaxo Holdings Limited, UK. The new equipment includes up-to-date tools for conducting biotechnological and genetic research, which will significantly enhance the learning and research conditions at the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology of Lviv University.
The received equipment will form the foundation for organizing practical and laboratory sessions for students of the educational programs 162 “Biotechnology and Bioengineering” and 091 “Biology.” This will allow our students to acquire practical skills in working with modern equipment and promote the development of their relevant scientific research in the field of biotechnology.
The academic community of the Faculty of Biology expresses its sincere gratitude to the British company Qualasept PharmaxoHoldings Limited for supporting Lviv University during this challenging time and wishes for further development in their healthcare activities in the UK. Special thanks to the company’s employees, Hope Kulyk and Stuart Kotchie, as well as other members of the R&D and Facilities departments, for their help in processing the documents and organizing the logistics.
Another recognition to the staff of the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology for arranging and overseeing the delivery of the equipment to Ukraine. We believe that the received assistance will significantly enhance the preparation of highly qualified specialists and will be a successful investment in the development of biotechnological sciences in Ukraine.
