The Ivan Franko National University of Lviv is in the top three in the ranking of Ukrainian universities according to Scopus database indicators

The Ivan Franko National University of Lviv has improved its position in the ranking of Ukrainian higher education institutions according to the indicators of the Scopus scientometric database. In the latest edition of the rating, which is a tool for tracking the citations of scientific articles published by an educational institution or its employees, Lviv University rose one position and ranks third among Ukrainian universities.

As the website “Osvita.ua” reports, the Scopus database constantly indexes more than 20,000 scientific publications in technical, medical and humanitarian sciences. The database also includes publications in scientific journals, materials from conferences and book publications.

In the rating table, Ukrainian universities are ranked according to the Hirsch index – a quantitative indicator based on the number of scientific publications and the number of their citations.

According to the rating data of 2023, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University has the highest Hirsch index among Ukrainian universities — 117, Kharkiv National University named after V. N. Karazin — 85 and Ivan Franko Lviv National University — 74.

Compared to last year, the Hirsch index of Lviv University increased by four points.
