The thesis is focused on the problems of development of technologies of political communication.

The globalized world transforms itself in its communication, and, undoubtedly, this transformation has resonance for the Ukrainians. Being previously considered as utterly sectorial, the communication aspects (mass or political) cannot be studied without understanding of their interrelationship. The emphasis is placed on the role played by the latest media tools: some communication types are interdependent to the extent that it is hardly possible to differentiate them. Therefore, special attention is drawn to the problems of political communication in the context of research of political and communication processes of the Ukrainian modern information society.

Thus, there is a need to study the concept and essence of the modern information society, its reformation possibilities with the help of political technologies, use of the Internet as communication and political tool.

Thereupon, the stress is laid on the relevance of the research topic: introduction and development of new media tools as fundamentally new channels of political communication, which appeared as a result of the revolution in Ukraine, and transformations in operation of the traditional media caused by new challenges. With regard to the above-mentioned specifics, the researcher has defined new political and communication opportunities for implementation of the new operational methods for the new media tools which are based on the modern information and communication technologies pertain to the modern information society.

The concept of «new media», their differences from traditional ones are considered, new rules of work for subjects of political communication in new media are clarified, prospects for further use of new forms and methods of political communication are analyzed.

Considering all the outlined points, the researcher has studied such topics as political communication in mass-media and its manifestation in Ukraine, information society specifics.

In the dissertation the author develops the complex research of development of the political communication system was conducted and is based on a dynamic development of the new domestic media in an emerging modern information society.

Based on the analysis of systematic reviews prove that contents, aims and ways of application of political communication do not fully comply with the democratic model, and indicate a nonlinear formation of the national model of the modern society based on the oligarchic liberalism that contradicts national interests, political culture and Ukrainian mentality. The system of political communication is not formed in compliance with the democratic model due to the following reasons.

The research of specifics of traditional mass media modernization at the time of the new challenges – adaptation and change of speech stereotypes in compliance with the evolution of the system of political communication in society and development of the modern information and communication technologies – was conducted.

The study of specifics of new multi-media influence on the public consciousness in an emerging modern information society was conducted on the basis of the fundamentally new methodological approaches of understanding of communication processes in the (digital) media which are characterized by new connections between political subjects and objects (as information sources and consumers). The systematic analysis of the transformation processes in political communication in the context of an effective influence on the constituency was done.

A single multimedia political and information space is formed in the context of globalization: messages are mostly spread not through individual mass media channels but in a multidirectional way by creating a political and communication network aimed at different audiences. Thus, political communication can be personalized and individualized in accordance with the chosen communication channels. It eliminates a monopoly of the traditional media on information. But the manipulative influence of the new multimedia information sources is increased as these stay beyond the legal framework and are not regulated by the state.

Key words: political communication, mass communication, new media, politics, global information space, information society, social communication, social networks, traditional mass media, television, politics, information technologies.
