Following the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 725 of June 13, 2023, the new composition of the Attestation Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was approved.
In particular, the rector of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Volodymyr Melnyk, was included in the new composition of the Attestation Board.
In total, 14 people will work as part of the renewed Attestation Board:
- Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi (head of the collegium);
- Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykhailo Vynnytskyi (deputy chairman);
- Director of the Department of Certification of highly qualified personnel of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Svitlana Kryshtof (scientist secretary);
- Academician-secretary of the theatre department of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine Oleksiy Bezgin (by consent);
- Head of the department of the Dnipro Polytechnic National Technical University Volodymyr Hnatushenko;
- The first vice-rector of the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Lilia Hrynevych (by consent);
- People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Yulia Hryshina (by consent);
- Director of the Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Anatoliy Zahorodnyi (by consent);
- The Vice President of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Natalia Kuznetsova (by consent);
- Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Denys Kurbatov;
- Rector of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Volodymyr Melnyk;
- Volodymyr Ponomarenko, rector of Semyon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics;
- Rector of the Donbas State Pedagogical University, Svitlana Omelchenko;
- Professor of the Department of the National Defense University of Ukraine, Doctor of Military Sciences, Professor Vasyl Telelym (by consent);
- Acting Mykola Frolov, rector of the Zaporizhia National University;
- Ihor Tsependa, Tsependa, rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University;
- President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Vitaliy Tsymbalyuk (by consent).
The Attestation Board is an advisory body of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, which exercises authority over the training and attestation of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel assigned to the Department of Education.
One of the main tasks of the Board is to approve the decisions of specialized academic councils on the awarding of scientific degrees (candidate and doctor of science, doctor of philosophy), as well as the awarding of academic titles (associate professor and professor) to scientific and pedagogical workers of higher education institutions, postgraduate education institutions and other scientific institutions. In addition, the Attestation Board decides on the formation of specialized academic councils for awarding the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy and forms a list of specialized scientific publications.
Today, June 20, 2023, the first meeting of the renewed collegium will be held. The agenda of the meeting included:
- Consideration of the issue of approving the decisions of academic councils of higher education institutions and scientific institutions regarding the awarding of academic titles to scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers.
- Consideration of the issue of approving and revoking the decisions of specialized academic councils on awarding the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences.
- Consideration of the issue of approving and revoking the decisions of specialized academic councils on awarding the scientific degree of candidates of sciences.
- Consideration of the issue of approving decisions of specialized academic councils on awarding the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
- Consideration of the issue of the formation of specialized scientific councils for awarding scientific degrees.
- Partial changes in the composition of specialized scientific councils.
- Formation of the List of scientific professional publications (inclusion, renewal, amendment, refusal).
