Thesis based on interdisciplinary methodology analyzes the specificity of the correlation of the scientific and ideological components in political science.

The maximum level of objectivity for political science is necessary because the main requirement for the implementation of politics in modern democratic regimes is its foundation on research and facts. Accordingly, the low level of reliability of studies and the influence of ideological factors on them can lead to critical errors in the implementation of policies and, in general, low efficiency of public administration.

The research paper highlights the content of the main criteria of scientific knowledge and the main approaches to understanding ideology. The use of the structural-functional and anthropological method was proposed, where the comparison between the ideological and the scientific is reflected in the difference between the types of worldview: the theoretical one corresponds to the scientific worldview, and the regular one corresponds to the ideological one.

In order to determine and analyze the principles and criteria on the basis of which it is possible to distribute knowledge in political science to its own scientific and ideological, an analysis of the state of research on the question of the influence of ideological prerequisites on the scientific sphere was carried out; the main methodological approaches to the study of ideology and its mutual influence with science were identified; a proper type of analysis of the types of scientific and ideological worldview and their mutual influence has been formed; the ways of interaction of subjective and objective knowledge about politics were highlighted, this process was clearly shown on the example of political categories; the process of transformation of the ideological in the post-Soviet space and the change in its influence on science, in particular during the Russian-Ukrainian war, was analyzed.

The difference between subjective and objective knowledge about politics was highlighted, the main modalities of the influence of ideology on political science were analyzed on the example of categories. An analysis of the prospects for reducing the influence of ideological premises on political research was carried out.

In addition, the concept of public ideology as a political category was proposed, which can be used to analyze the type of super-ideology that functions in democratic and hybrid regimes and is called state ideology these days, which causes terminological confusion.

As a result, the general principles (foundations) of the relationship of scientific and ideological knowledge in political science were highlighted and, within the framework of these principles, criteria (independent variables) were proposed for determining such an assessment. Thus, it was justified that the general principles include: 1) the situational principle. 2) the features of the scientific environment principle. These are criteria such as school traditions, the availability of peer-review, etc. 3) the multidisciplinarity principle. The type of scientific discipline from where the knowledge was derived is important here. Political sciences are heterogeneous and draw on knowledge of reality from other disciplines. In abstract and natural science, the influence of ideology is less. The more “human-centered” knowledge becomes, the greater the possibility of the influence of ideological premises. Criteria for the type of scientific discipline, the quality of operationalization, and the like can be distinguished; It is possible to distinguish the criteria of the type of scientific discipline, the quality of operationalization, etc. 4) the principle of financial dependence of research. The type of policy research funding influences both directly (through censorship and donor requirements) and indirectly (through the announcement of research projects that interest the client). Here, the criteria for the type of funding, donor requirements, and the degree of dependence of the researcher on the financial entity are distinguished; 5) the principle of individual characteristics of the researcher. The worldview prism of a person influences the choice of topics studied, methodology, and, partially, results. There is statistical confirmation of the differences in the results of the study of various issues by scientists who have different ideological attitudes. Within the framework of this principle, the criteria of the ideology of the research author should be distinguished, preferences regarding sources of information, etc.

Key words: science, ideology, social ideology, political ontology, ideologization of science, anthropological approach, political worldview, political categories
