On April 27, 2023, the charity fair “LNU for the Armed Forces” was held at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The event was organised by the Primary Trade Union Organization of University Students together with the “International Special Operations Forces” charity fund.
Yes, during the day in the hall of the main building of LNU named after Ivan Franko, everyone was able to purchase a wide variety of goodies for themselves and their loved ones. As part of the event, students prepared the most outstanding dishes from each of the regions of Ukraine. Therefore, buckwheat dumplings, sticks, unsurpassed cheesecakes, and wonderful pastries were presented at the fair.
Students of all faculties and the college participated in the organisation of the event, and many employees of the University, including the Rector of the University, Professor Volodymyr Melnyk, supported their initiative by purchasing sweets.
The purpose of the charity fair was to raise funds for an anti-drone gun, which will go in the hottest direction and help the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the fight against enemy drones.
“Such events are extremely important today because, in the format of the fair, we can join a charitable initiative and support our Defenders, thanks to whose heroism we have the opportunity to study,” says the head of the student union, Mykola Speresenko.
According to the organizers of the charity initiative, more than 75,000 hryvnias have already been collected during the campaign, but fundraising continues. You can join the charity event by following the link.
