Within the working visit to Lviv the Ambassador of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Hugo Mingarelli visited the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv on March 28, 2017. During the meeting with the University Rector, professor Volodymyr Melnyk the EU Ambassador told about the need to develop practical proposals on deepening the further cooperation between Ukraine and the EU as well as between Lviv university and the European Union Delegation to Ukraine.
In particular, Hugo Mingarelli emphasized that the EU representatives could share their experience of reforms and implementation of certain projects as well as development of successful models of functioning different spheres of the society life.
“We know that there is a number of universities and research centers of high level and he is sure that we have to strengthen our cooperation. In particular, in order that you could get better access to leading European programs”, – Hugo Mingarelli noted.
The Rector of the University, professor Volodymyr Melnyk thanked the EU Ambassador to Ukraine for the active support of the European ambitions of our state and specific proposals for the integration of the Ukrainian education and science in the world context.
According to Volodymyr Petrovych, in the present conditions without the cooperation with European universities the Ukrainian higher educational establishments can’t build successful future as the real development of education and science involves the implementation of numerous scientific projects and adopting the experience of the successful formation of the system of managing educational processes.
In addition, the University Rector stressed that the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv cooperated with more than 100 foreign educational and scientific establishments. Every year about 1000 students and lecturers of the University have an opportunity to visit world research centers and it testifies about the orientation of the University to adopt advanced world experience of forming education and science.
In conclusion, the EU Ambassador to Ukraine Hugo Mingarelli and the Rector of the University, professor Volodymyr Melnyk agreed to promote the comprehensive cooperation of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and the EU Delegation to Ukraine.
