The student government of the University will transfer half a million hryvnias to the needs of the Armed Forces
On January 16, the first Student Conference of Ivan Franko Lviv National University in 2023 was held. The main issues on the agenda were the adoption of the financial report of the Student Government for 2022 and the transfer of self-government funds of 500,000 hryvnias for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the beginning of the conference, the head of the Student Government, Angelina Berezhnenko, reported on the allocation of funds from the Student Government budget, noting that the full-scale war in Ukraine changed priorities. That’s why students directed a significant part of the money to support the army and financial assistance to education seekers affected by the war.

Later, the students discussed the possibility of transferring half a million hryvnias from their budget to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and unanimously supported the corresponding decision.

“Helping our military from the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion to this day is a priority task because we all understand that the victory over the aggressor depends on each of us. In addition to volunteer assistance, we also send funds that will bring our victory closer. This is the least we can do,” emphasised Angelina Berezhnenko.

The first vice-rector of the University, Andriy Gukalyuk, supported the students’ initiative, noting the high level of organisation of the self-government team. “I thank all students of the University for making an important decision to help our Armed Forces. Remember that today’s realities lead to the fact that more and more students need financial assistance, so we should help them feel more comfortable and focus on the educational process,” said Andriy Fedorovych.
