Information on the thesis

The  aim  of  dissertation  research  is  to  evaluation  the  efficiency  of  the  Ukrainian
industrial  production  in  the  conditions  of  European  integration  processes.  In  the
dissertation,  theoretical  and  methodical  principles  are  deeply  reasoned  and  practical
recommendations about the efficiency evaluation of the Ukrainian industrial production in
the conditions of European integration processes are provided. The authors’ definition of
the  efficiency  evaluation  of  the  Ukrainian  industrial  production  is  offered:  economic
category, which characterizes the possibility of industrial enterprises to get the maximum
profit with minimum production costs. The cause-effect relationship in the interpretation
of industrial production and the efficiency of its realization are reflected. The author has
defined  the  differences  between  the  concepts  of  effect,  efficiency,  effectiveness  and
constructed generalized scheme of their use in the efficiency evaluation of the Ukrainian
industrial production in the conditions of European integration processes. The theoretical
and  methodical  approaches  to  the  efficiency  evaluation  of  the  Ukrainian  industrial
production are studied and their essence is revealed. Informational and analytical system
of indicators of the complex efficiency evaluation of the Ukrainian industrial production is
formed. It consists of basic indicators, additional indicators, generalized indicators and the
integral index of the efficiency evaluation of the Ukrainian industrial production. Metadata
was created to explain a system of indicators. The author interprets metadata as data that
provides information about other data.
Based  on  the  results  of  the  analysis  of  industrial  production  in  the  structure  of
Ukrainian  national  economics  author  has  found:  the  share  of  industry  in  the  national
economy, the Ukraine partner countries in foreign trade, the main types of industrial goods
and  services  that  are  exported  and  imported,  the  amount  of  investment  in  industry,  the
level of innovative activity in industrial production. Using different methodical approaches
author has calculated: the share of profitable industrial enterprises in Ukraine, the changes
in  the  structure  of  industrial  production  and  its  efficiency,  the  most  efficient
types  of industrial  production  by  the  growth  criteria,  the  short  term  forecast  for  the  indexes  of
industrial  production  by  software  “Demetra+”.  The  impact  of  European  integration
conditions is taken into account in constructing the ratings of Ukraine and European Union
countries  (comparative  analysis  is  done  by  seventy-six  groups  of  indicators  that
characterizing:  industrial  production,  resources,  economic  indicators,  foreign  trade,
research  and  development,  environment,  world  rankings).  Based  on  this  international
comparisons author investigated the external and internal factors that impede the efficient
industrial production in Ukraine.
The  methodical  approach  to  complex  evaluation  the  efficiency  of  the  Ukrainian
industrial production is offered. The main emphasis is made on the factor analysis usage
(the principal components method). Idea is to calculate the integral index the efficiency
evaluation  of  the  Ukrainian  industrial  production.  The  formula  for  integral  index
calculating  is  based  on  convolution  of  factor  loadings  values  and  of  input  parameters
normalized values with regard to their significance. Incoming information is presented in
the form of data matrix. Its qualitative analysis includes data validation for the abnormally
large  or  small  values  presence,  filling  in  transmitted  information,  descriptive  statistics
analysis. Unification of the indicators is provided through standardization procedure. This
index  is  used  to  find  the  most  effective  types  of  industrial  production  and  the  overall
efficiency  of  the  Ukrainian  industry.  The  most  effective  type  of  industrial  production
defined pharmaceutical production.
All results of research author has used in order to form the strategy of development
of  the  Ukrainian  industrial  production  to  increase  its  efficiency  in  the  conditions  of
European integration processes. The strategy is based on the European Union countries’
experiences  for  the  improvement  of  industrial  policy.  The  author  has  found  out
quantitative  and  qualitative  advantages  of  European  industry  development  programs.  A
conceptual diagram of the strategy consists of systemic problems, current adverse trends,
conceptual  idea,  strategic  direction,  strategic  goals  and  forms  of  implementation  of
strategic directions and goals. Using this strategy should lead to the development of the
Ukrainian industrial production and increase its efficiency.
