A  thesis  for  obtaining  the  scientific  degree  of  Ph.D  in  political  science  by
speciality 23.00.01. – A Theory and History of Political Thought.  – Lviv National
University of Ivan Franko. – Lviv, 2016.
The  work  is  devoted  to  research  of  institutional  political  discourse  and  its
semantic substance. It reveals the history of scientific knowledge about the political
discourse.  The  autor  analyzed  the  functions  and  semantic  structure  of  word  in
political discourse, revealed its role in the process of nomination, conceptualization
and  reference.  In  the  thesis  is  analized  the  process  of  semantic  competition  and
mechanisms,  which  restrict  access  to  political  discourse.  There  are  investigated
differences  between  professional  and  public  sphere  of  using  of  political  concepts.
There are uncovered properties of text and its political structure, which includes the
message, its sender, recipient and the context. A sender of political text is analyzed as
a subject, which defining the style of a message. The addressee of political text is
defined as a member of communication, which manifests itself in the political clarity
of  it  for  a  specific  group.  In  the  thesis  is  developed  the  scheme  of  comparison
semantic structure of a democratic political institutional discourse and discourse  of
undemocratic regimes. There is revealed, that the political discourse of the enemy is
the basis of non-democratic discourse, and is able to penetrate to the democratic, so
that  democracy  is  moving  away  from  its  idea.  The  autor  discovered  semantic
paradoxes of a functioning of political discourses of different regimes.
