Annotation

In the dissertation on the basis of the complex interdisciplinary approach the views of the prominent Austrian scientist Friedrich von Haek on the freedom of the individual and its boundaries are analyzed, the peculiarities of interpretation and understanding of the different aspects of freedom, in particular political and economic freedom and ways of their achievement are revealed. The historical and theoretical and methodological grounds for the study of the problem are revealed. The scientific interest in the political doctrine of liberalism by Friedrich von Hail, which declined significantly in the twentieth century as a result of the establishment, domination, and subsequently of the defeat of the communist and socialist totalitarian regimes that defeated liberalism, returned at the end of the century. This is, however, more typical of Western political science, whereas in the Ukrainian study of the scientific heritage of Friedrich von Hail, generally liberal ideologies are sporadic and focus primarily on the phenomenon of democracy. At the same time, liberalism falls within the scope of research of economists and historians, remaining outside political studies because of the general ideological uncertainty and amorphous nature of Ukrainian society.

The theoretical, methodological and applied problems of the study of freedom and its limits in the scientific heritage of Friedrich von Häek are considered. Classical and contemporary scientific approaches related to the study of the phenomenon of freedom in the context of the ideology of liberalism are analyzed. The importance of working out the main ideas and ideals of the classical liberalism ideology espoused by the Austrian School of Economics, the most prominent of which is Friedrich von Hayek, should be emphasized.

The theoretical basis for the study of the categorical apparatus of this problem at the present stage of development requires the use of certain unified approaches. This is especially necessary when determining the use of separately empirical and subjectivist approaches, or synthesizing them, to reveal the particularities of interpreting political and economic freedom and the scientific categories associated with them. At the present stage of the development of political science, views on freedom have two concepts, positive and negative. Each of the concepts has certain advantages and disadvantages, a systematic study of which is relevant for expanding the theoretical base in this topic.

The dissertation research is updated by the fact that among scientists there are different approaches to determining the methodology of the analysis of freedom and its limits in the political doctrine of liberalism by Friedrich von Heck. According to the analysis of scientific sources, for the peculiarities of the study of freedom there is a need to present a systematic authorial approach with a set of the most expedient and reasonable methods that would ensure the accuracy of the research and the perspective forecasting of changes.

The presented objectivist model of the study of freedom and its limits in the scientific heritage of Friedrich von Häek is flexible enough, and given the changes in the understanding of freedom and its limits, certain fluctuations in the development of political and economic thought can be changed without disturbing the general structure.
