Information educational resource «Оsvita.ua» has made the Consolidated rating of higher education institutions of Ukraine in 2021.
In order to form a rating the authors used, as they believe, the most authoritative among experts and the media national ratings of educational institutions of Ukraine: “Top-200 Ukraine”, “Scopus” and “External Independent Evaluation Score on a contract”. Each of them uses different evaluation criteria for higher education institutions of Ukraine.
According to the generalized rating results, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv took the third place. Compared to last year, Lviv University has improved its position, rising one place in the list of the best institutions of higher education of Ukraine.
The first place in the ranking was taken by the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, the second one by the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.

“TOP-200 Ukraine” – the project methodology of “Top-200 Ukraine” is based on the exploration of direct measurement data and expert opinions. The activity of universities is evaluated with the help of an integrated index. This index consists of three complex components: quality index of academic staff potential, education quality index and index of international recognition.
“Scopus” rating – the results of the higher education institutions of Ukraine rating are based on the Scopus database indicators, which is a tool for tracking the citation of scientific articles published by an educational institution or its employees in scientific journals. In the ranking table, universities are ranked according to the Hirsch index – a quantitative indicator based on the number of scientific publications and the number of these publications citations.
“External Independent Evaluation Score on a contract” Rating – a rating of higher education institutions on the average external evaluation score of previous year applicants , who were enlisted at universities to study at the individuals and entities expenses(contract).
