On August 18, 2023, the Business Camp, an interactive educational project, which lasted five days at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, ended. Project participants were children of defenders of Ukraine, aged 11-16.
The program of the five-day camp was rich. In particular, during the lectures, the participants learned several eye-catching topics, including the issues of personal finance, the financial system and financial services, insurance, financial security, etc. In addition to lectures and practical classes, the participants also visited many interesting and useful locations. So, the children visited the head office of JSC “Oschadbank” and the Soldier’s House, took part in a master class from the Lviv gingerbread gallery “Yurashka”, met with the military and even took part in a first aid training conducted for them by the Maltese Aid Service. The children were also quite interested in the meeting with the representative of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the training on mine danger and, of course, the excursion to the fire station.
The camp ended with a presentation and discussion of the projects that the six teams prepared during the academic week. Despite the young age of their developers, all projects turned out to be very interesting and relevant.
During the closing part of the project, its participants were congratulated by Vice-Rector for Research, Teaching and Public Issues and Development Volodymyr Kachmar, Vice-Rector for Research, Teaching and International Cooperation Serhiy Riznyk, Head of the Department of Accounting and Auditing of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, deputy of the Lviv Regional Council Yuriy Radelytskyi, chief specialist of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine in Lviv Region Artem Bagen and deputy head of the Primary Trade Union Organization of University Employees Yuliya Hrytsenko. Certificates and commemorative gifts were presented to all who took part in the educational initiative.
Let’s add that the goal of the project was the formation of entrepreneurial skills in teenagers and conscious citizen-patriots of the Ukrainian State. The project was implemented within the framework of the program “Support of projects for orphans and children in residential care from the Ginger UCEF fund”. The organisers of the project are the Center for Social Development and Public Initiatives of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv together with BF “Ukrainian Educational Platform” and the Primary Trade Union Organization of University Employees. The partners of the project are also the Academy of Social and Economic Initiatives, the Association of Banks of the Lviv Region, the Maltese Aid Service, the Training and Methodological Center of Civil Defense and Life Safety of the Lviv Region, the Lviv Center for Providing Services to Participants in Combat Operations, the NGO “Business Club “Partner”, the NGO “Association of Centers of veteran development”.
