This paper presents a research on the institutional mechanism of the labor market
in the agricultural sector of Ukraine’s economy and on the practical recommendations to
improve rural employment.The analysis of the essential principles of functioning of the
labor market, its infrastructure and the institutional mechanism of the labor market in the
agricultural  sector  is  conducted.  The  current  state  of  the  institutional  structure  of  the
agricultural labor market is presented.The influence of various factors on employment at
the agricultural enterprises is analyzed by implementing different economic methods.The
methods  of  the  public  policy  improvement  of  the  quality  of  human  resources  and  the
effective  rural  employment  systems  are  formed.The  recommendations  for  the
implementation of foreign experience aimed at improving the functioning of formal and
informal labor market institutions in the agricultural sector of Ukraine are provided.
