Annotation

Archives, stock, literature and maps that provide information on studying rendzinas
of the Podilski Tovtry were analyzed. Natural and anthropogenic conditions and factors that
determine  the  geography  and  ontogenesis  of  rendzinas  of  the  Podilski  Tovtry  were
described.
We have defined the basic processes that contribute to the formation and development
of  the  genetic  profile  of  rendzinas  and  pararendzіnas  and discovered  patterns  of  spatial
distribution  within  Podilski  Tovtry.  We  have  found  that  the  rendzinas  formation  of  the
Podilski  Tovtry  is  influenced  under  the  biogenic-accumulative  and  eluvial  soil-forming
processes, including the decisive role played sod process, formation of humus, accumulation
of humus and leaching, calcination and decalcification. The main form of rendzinas spread
within Podilski Tovtry is pedostriya – strip with uniform surface soil caused by lithological
heterogeneity of parent material.
Thermodynamic and energy characteristics of parent material and rendzinas of the
Podilski  Tovtry  were  developed.  We  have  established  the  nature  and  direction  of
development  chemical,  physical-chemical  and  physical  processes  and  properties  of
rendzinas  of  the  study  area  at  different  stages  and  areas  of  their  ontogenesis.  It  was
investigated  macromorphological  features  of  the  formation  and  structure  of  the  genetic
profile  of  rendzinas  that  are  in  various  stages  of  ontogenesis.  It  has  been  established
processes  and  typical  features  of  anthropogenic  transformation  rendzinas  due  to  human
activities,  which  are  manifested  in  a  decrease  of  humus  content,  change  of  aggregate-
structural composition, deformation of pore, compaction of soil mass, disaggregation of soil
mass, formation of fractured-block structure, intensification of leaching and decalcification,
occurrence  of  horizons  so  crowded.  We  proved  different  ways  of  balanced  use  and
protection of rendzinas of the Podilski Tovtry, and we proved feasibility of their inclusion
to the objects of the soil-security infrastructure.
Key  words:  Podilski  Tovtry,  rendzinas,  pararendzinas,  pedostrialnist,  ontogenetic
stages,  soil-forming  process,  soil  profile,  genetic  horizons,  carbonates,  humus,
granulometric composition.
