Formation of socially-oriented banking system in Ukraine.

The dissertation reveals the essence and principles of formations the socially-
oriented banking system in Ukraine and methodological approaches to its analysis. The
conditions, functions and stages of development of the socially-oriented banking system
are analyzed. The dissertation analyses the main approaches to the interpretation of the
concepts of corporate social responsibility and social banking, proposes the definitions of
social orientations of banking system and social restructuring of banking system, as well
as the basic methods for realization of the social function of the banks and determines the
factors that influence the social efficiency of the banking system. The dissertation
emphasis the conditions and reasons for formations of modern social-oriented banking
system, it proves the correlation and influence of the structural characteristics of the
financial system to the level of economic inequality. The current state and phases of the
corporate social responsibility management in the national banking system, as well as
information and marketing tools for improvement the reputation and social responsibility
of the bank has been investigated in this dissertation. The methodological approaches for
the rating assessment of the banks’ social impact and qualitative, as well as quantitative
criteria of the social impact have been developed. Based on the national and international
experiences’ analysis of tax incentives for formation socially-oriented banking system, the
recommendations are given for improvement of the taxation mechanism and institutional
regulation of the banking system; improvement of the corporate and state governance of
the social and economic risks of the banking system in Ukraine. The dissertation
emphasizes the role and mechanisms of public-private investment partnerships and
institutional mechanism of international initiative for financing of sustainable
development. The concept of International Sustainability Investment Fund is developed in
order to improve responsibility of financial system, support target financing and growth of
socially-oriented banks. The dissertation research elaborates proposals for delegation of
the social responsibilities and public services from the government to the private banks by
implementation of the value-added business models, decrease of the economic inequality
by the mechanisms of tax initiatives, target financing of the social and real sectors of the
economy, and prevention of the financial market speculative activities through normative
regulation and contractile approach to state regulations of the financial system.
