Discourse and Pragmatic Characteristics of English Internet Interview (based on the online magazines for teenagers “gUrl”, “Seventeen”, “Teen Vogue”)

Internet interview is defined as the genre of Internet discourse of the mixed type
that is destinguished by features which are common to Internet discourse and mass
media discourse. Internet interview is stated to be dialogic, informative, interactive,
distant, mediate, connecting imaginative, visual, audial and letteral components. Data
material is represented by a corpus of 142 dialogical fragmentsof the Internet interviews
taken from the internet magazines for teenage girls.
In the paper strategic organization of the Internet interview is revealed. Interviewer
and respondent strategies and the means of their realization are suggested. It is stated that
every strategy is realized by the set of tactics which are classified into universal and
preferential for every analyzed communicative situation “Friends & Relationships”,
“Fashion and Style”, “Beauty & Health”, “Entertainment & Hobbies”, “School &
Career”. Speech behavior of the participants of Internet interview depends not only on
their communicative competence but also on age and gender of interlocutors.
Internet interview structure is subjected to the factor of multiple recipient which is
taken into account by an interviewer while organizing the sense side of the Internet
interview. Internet interview discourse not only transmits the values that were created by
other media, but also contributes to the formation of teenages’ value view of the world.
