Dear colleagues,
We invite you to join the Round Table, which will take place December 7, 11.00 – 13.00 (GMT+2) within the framework of the International Research Project The Hassidic Nign in Right Bank Ukraine and East Galicia: Between Autochthonous and External Soundscapes, conducted by scholars of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
During the round table, participants will be invited to discuss musical samples recorded in the Right Bank of Ukraine and Eastern Galicia in order to identify similarities or differences between the proposed samples and musical compositions of Ukrainian and Polish oral traditions. In the discussion we will pay special attention to aspects of the mode, structure, rhythm, development of the melodic line, as well as the cultural functions of every present musical example.
