Q&A Session Dedicated to Admissions 2021 Held at the University

The less time is left before the admission campaign, the more worries overpower high school students and school leavers, as the choice of the higher education as well as the choice of the future profession is a responsible and a vital step in their life. Thus, today on May, 12 there was an online meeting of the secretary of Admission commission Nataliia Mishchuk with the future Ivan Franko National University of Lviv applicants. The event was held in the form of a live Q&A session on the university’s official page on Instagram @lnuvstup. Kseniia Motruk, an employee of the Centre for marketing and development moderated the meeting.

The question most of the applicants took an interest in were the terms of admission campaign, so Nataliia Volodymyrivna outlined the major stages of the admission 2021. Thus, according to Ivan Franko National University of Lviv admission rules of 2021

the bachelor’s admission campaign will be held in several stages. Between June, 20 – July,1, 2021 applicants will be able to apply for the participation in admission exams and creative competition for the government procurement.

On July, 1, 2021 starts the registration of electronic accounts and the process of uploading the necessary documents. On July, 14, 2021 starts the submission period. The deadlines for accepting the applications are the following: July, 16, 2021, 6 p.m. is the deadline to submit documents for the applicants entering the university passing the interview, admission exams and creative competitions; July, 23, 2020 6 p.m. will be the deadline for applicants entering the university on the basis of the results of the external independent evaluation only.

One of the most frequently asked questions was related to conducting the state final exams. According to the Law “On introducing changes to some legislative acts in Ukraine aimed at providing additional social and economic guarantees in connection with the spread of COVID 19 (regarding certain issues of 2020/2021 academic year completion”), applicants finishing general secondary education in the academic year of 2020 – 2021 are free from passing the state final exams. According to Natalia Mishchuk the school leavers can pass the state final exams and the mark they get will be indicated in the addition to the certificate of secondary education. However, the average number of points from the certificate of secondary education will not be taken into consideration.

The secretary of Admission commission also spoke about the dates of external independent evaluation, creative competitions and admission exams. Apart from that, a number of questions were related to the terms and tuition fees at Lviv university, the number of state funded places, the list of required documents to be admitted to the university. Applicants also enquired about the academic process at certain faculties, life in university’s dormitories and leisure as well as functioning of the canteens.

Nataliia Volodymyrivna familiarized the participants of the event with the information on structural units of the University highlighting that students’ life is especially interesting at all faculties. At the same time she stressed that the main task of each applicant is to choose their future profession, in other word to decide on the speciality.

To summarize the event, the representatives of the Admission commission will decide on the most interesting question, the author of which will receive a memorable present from Lviv university.
