The competitiveness of regional tourism markets in Ukraine

The dissertation research examines the competitiveness of tourism in the region
as an integrated set of individual components of the tourism cluster and tourist
destinations. The mechanism of public administration of competitiveness of regional
tourism markets, its compliance with the requirements of modern tourism
development areas has been examined.
The essence of regional tourism markets competitiveness, structural and
functional model of regional tourism cluster, factors affecting the regional tourism
markets in this paper has been explored. Regional tourism markets governance
administration mechanism, its components, target direction, directions of improvement
has been characterized. An order of application of calculating method of index
competitiveness of travels and tourism of World Economic Forum has been suggested.
It has been done to establish competitiveness of regional tourism markets, according
to which evaluation of the competitiveness of regions and cities area of national
importance is carried out. Development of regional tourism markets strategies and
directions of their implementation have been studied.
In the analytical part of the work the state, trends and challenges of development
of domestic tourism industry have been examined. The reasons for the low level of
competitiveness of national and regional tourist markets services in Western Ukraine
have been revealed.
The tasks which have to be done to improve their competitive position have been
defined. The method of regional tourism markets competitiveness analysis and tourism
infrastructure based on the usage of matrix position of competitiveness, coefficients of
tour operator’s intensity, efficiency of hotel infrastructure has been improved.
Scientific and methodological approaches to the determination of destinations
have been developed. Their selection for the target appointment has been justified.
The model of management destinations on the basis of clustered and marketing
approaches combination has been offered. The problems of strategic management of
regional tourism markets competitiveness have been examined. Strategic algorithm of
regional tourism markets management that provides efficiency in terms of strategic
decisions in the conditions of unstable economic and political environment has been
suggested.
The expediency of strategic management building with the help of
competitiveness of local markets for tourism by the reproduction of regional approach
based on the decentralization management functions and resources has been proved.
The necessity of destination development like the centers of strengthening of
regional tourism markets competitiveness has been justified. The essence of
destinations, conditions of their formation of competitive advantages on the basis of
cluster and marketing system pooling, coordination of activities of business structure,
local authorities and population has been investigated.
Algorithm of tourist complex development of the territory based on modern
scientific principles within a single development strategy of tourist destinations in the
region by the analysis of strategic regional management of tourism has been
elaborated. An organizational and economic mechanism of strategic management to
improve competitiveness of the region on national and international tourist markets
has been suggested.
